Vale do Pati
The benchmark multi-day trek in Chapada Diamantina. The full route covers roughly 65–70 km over five days through a remote valley with no road access, sleeping in family homestays along the way. The landscape shifts from cerrado plateau to river flats to canyon viewpoints. A licensed guide is required — this isn't a rule to argue with, it's useful in practice, because the trail markings are minimal and the route across private land requires knowing who to ask. A three-day express version covers the best sections for those with less time.
